Free alerts vs free data

RopeDrop gives every account 10 dining alerts by push and email, free, with no card. PixieWire has no free alerts; passes start at $4.99. What we give away is data: a 60-day availability calendar and 30 days of history on every restaurant page. If 10 alerts by push and email cover your trip, RopeDrop's free plan is the better deal.

Texts

RopeDrop's dining alerts come by push and email on every plan; we found no texts listed. PixieWire texts from $9.99, every Month, Trip and Annual Pass includes texts, and every pass shares its alerts with up to 2 more people by email or phone number.

A subscription vs one payment

RopeDrop Individual is $5.99 a month or $29.99 a year for 25 dining alerts, a subscription you can cancel any time in Settings. PixieWire's Trip Pass is $24.99 once for 90 days with 25 alerts, and the Annual Pass $69.99 for 50. For a family that goes several times a year and is happy with push and email, RopeDrop's yearly plan costs less.

How often each one checks

RopeDrop publishes its interval: about every 10 minutes, around the clock, on every plan including free. PixieWire checks each watched Walt Disney World table about every 18 seconds on every pass, measured, with the method on our alert speed page.

Parks and planning

RopeDrop's dining alerts cover Walt Disney World, Disneyland and the restaurants in Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, and its free plan adds a trip planner and ride wait-drop alerts. PixieWire covers Walt Disney World and Disneyland dining (155 venues), with Ride Alerts in our iPhone app on Month, Trip and Annual passes.
