  • Space 220 requires valid EPCOT park admission and a park reservation (if applicable).
  • The Disney Dining Plan is not accepted here. Disney lists Space 220 Restaurant as Dining Plan Meals Not Accepted, which is worth knowing before a prix fixe dinner Disney prices at over $60 per adult.
  • Operating hours per Disney: lunch 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM, dinner 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Space 220 Restaurant is EPCOT's orbiting dining room: a Stellarvator ride up to a space-station set with a simulated Earth turning outside the windows, and a prix fixe of modern American dishes. Its reputation says impossible. Our numbers say otherwise — the main dining room sits in the middle of our difficulty ranking, and the genuinely hard reservation is the smaller Lounge next door.

Is Space 220 actually hard to book?

Between Jul 19 and Sep 25 we logged 8,487 table openings at Space 220 Restaurant, with a table appearing on every one of the 69 dates we tracked. In late September it ranked 71st of the Disney tables we rank for difficulty — middle of the pack, not the top.

The Space 220 Lounge is a different story. It ranked 6th hardest. We saw only 312 Lounge openings in the same period, more than half of them (54%) appeared within 48 hours of the date, and half were claimed within about 90 minutes. Lounge tables also skew small: most openings were for parties of one or two. If you want the Lounge, an alert is close to the only realistic route; if you just want the view and the Stellarvator, the Restaurant is far easier.

Lunch or dinner: the booking math

Lunch is both cheaper and easier. Half of lunch openings stayed available for about 38 hours; dinner openings went in about 23. Disney prices lunch at $55 per adult and dinner at $79, so lunch is the lower-cost, lower-stress way to get the same ride and the same windows.

At dinner the pressure concentrates on a handful of times. Openings for 7:00 PM were typically claimed within 20 minutes, and 6:30 and 6:40 PM within about an hour and a half. The 4:15 PM and 8:30 PM seatings, by contrast, often sat open for weeks. At lunch, 2:50 PM and 3:25 PM went fastest; 1:40 PM and 2:15 PM lingered.

When new Space 220 tables appear

39% of all openings we recorded first appeared in the 6 AM hour (Eastern), when Disney releases the next day of its 60-day booking window, and 61% appeared 31–60 days before the reservation date. Being online at 6 AM exactly 60 days out is still the single best move.

The second chance is late: 16% of openings surfaced within 48 hours of the date. Monday dates were claimed fastest (about 15 hours), Wednesday dates slowest (about 44 hours). Parties of three to six found an opening on every date we tracked; parties of eight on only 40 of 69.

Who Space 220 suits — and who should skip it

It suits anyone who wants a themed meal and is flexible enough to take a lunch slot. The kids' price is $29 at lunch and $35 at dinner.

Skip it if your plan hinges on the Lounge for a party of four or more — those tables barely exist in our data — or if you want a meal outside a park day. Space 220 is inside EPCOT, so you need park admission and, where required, a park reservation.

Worth knowing on the menu

  • Lunch for the view — the same Stellarvator and windows at $24 less per adult than dinner.
  • Stuffed Baked Whole Lobster (dinner) — a $22 supplement on top of the $79 prix fixe — worth pricing in before you book.
  • Satellite Sides — each side is $9 à la carte, including the truffled parmesan fries.

What time do Space 220 reservations open?
